"Hypnotherapy... Yikes!"- Hypnotherapy explained...

What comes to mind when you hear the term hypnosis or hypnotherapy per se? Entertainment on television and movies such as “ Get Out” has caused many to be wary and afraid of hypnosis. While I must admit these are great to watch for entertainment and a good thrill they have provided many with a misconception about what hypnotherapy really is.

Please allow me to briefly explain and have an open mind while reading... Hypnosis is a natural state of mind and hypnotherapy is the therapeutic modality used to access that state of mind. A hypnotherapist is professionals who have been trained and or certified to help you dive deeper into your self. It is safe and has been approved by the American Medical Association since 1958.

Have you ever found yourself thinking, doing, or behaving in a way that is contradictory to what you are striving to become, but you find yourself still repeating this same patterned process of thinking and behaving? This may be in your relationships, negative thought process, fears and phobias, career and other aspects of your daily life. Well, I am here to help you gain insight into the core of your problem. Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool to help implement change within your life.

Hypnotherapy works as an adjunct to therapy. It is a gentle, relaxing stage of consciousness allowing you to quiet the daily noise that distracts one from accessing the deeper parts of oneself. In this hypnotic state, you will give yourself permission to access your highest self the subconscious parts of your brain. The subconscious part of the brain is the driver of your life. However, it is the most difficult to access. It is like the hard drive of your computer. Everything that has ever happened during your life and while even in your mother’s womb is stored in your subconscious. Now, are you able to see why patterned behavior may be more difficult to overcome despite many attempts to do something differently?

Hypnotherapy is a powerful and meaningful way to gain insight and awareness into the and root of your self.  There is nothing “scary” about it! You are always in control and your body will not allow anything that is not going to be freeing for you to come until it knows you are ready. See our bodies have a natural innate ability to heal itself. It is our conditioned thinking that has us programmed to work against its natural healing components.

Now take sometime and ask yourself...

Are you ready for some freedom from your own self?

Self-sabotaging behaviors, faulty thinking patterns, feeling stuck or is there is something greater in your life you should be doing?

Are you ready to truly forgive and release people and things that are holding you back?

Are you ready to allow your highest self to take action and communicate to you what it needs?

"Your body is ready to heal and be freed"

A little self-disclosure here... the first time I went to hypnotherapy I had seen "Get Out" and was somewhat reluctant, however I felt it deep inside of myself that something needed to be resolved. Let me just say that when I was finished with my personal session, I felt renewed! I was already discussing booking another session with the therapist. Let me be honest and say it is important to have some therapeutic rapport and trust established, because the conscious part of our mind will be on speed dial... I have had several sessions and the more I have wen the deeper I was able to access parts of my life that were still in control of how I thought, felt and behaved. My body knew when I was ready to release those things because every time something different happens for me, and every time I feel more and more free!

It feels like a rebirth of yourself. A renewed sense of self and I am more in charge of my life and where I want to be than I have ever been before. It has been so impactful for myself and others I know that I invested in training and now offer hypnotherapy! How excited I am about this as it is my hope to help others go deeper and discover their true potential by accessing their higher self.

As always my best,

Shatara S.
